THE MUSIC THEY TRIED TO BAN, THE DANCE THAT SURVIVED

CLOSED EVENING & INTIMATE WORKSHOP

«TANGO: THE MUSIC THEY TRIED TO BAN, THE DANCE THAT SURVIVED»

You've heard it a hundred times. But you never knew why it was forbidden.

Tango. Music of the port districts. The voice of immigrants. An embrace with no room for propriety.

The Church called it sin. The aristocracy called it bad taste. But tango didn't ask for permission. Born in the poor quarters of Buenos Aires, banned by the Church, mocked by the elite — it survived. And conquered the world.
But the truth is darker and more fascinating. This is not just a dance. It's a protest. It's passion. It's a quiet revolution, danced right under the nose of power.

How immigrants carried it across the ocean. Why Paris fell in love with tango first. And how forbidden fruit became the world's most seductive dance.

From Buenos Aires to Parisian salons.

Church bans, aristocratic mockery, and a triumphant march across the globe. Followed by a gentle workshop for those who want to take their first steps in the embrace. Candles, sparkling wine, light bites. The intimate atmosphere of Parisian Flat and a conversation about the dance that survived against all odds.
OLGA NIKOLAEVA & DMITRY KUZNETSOV

Champions of Russia (2017) and Europe (2018) in Tango Escenario. Three-time medalists of World Championships. Finalists of the world's main tango tournament — Mundial — in six seasons. Soloists of Buenos Aires shows, creators of their own productions: «La Historia de Un Amor» and the tango mystery «Malena».

They are the voice of Argentine tango, resonating on world stages for over a decade.

Their evening at Parisian Flat is not a dance school. It's a conversation about tango — born in poor neighborhoods, banned by the Church, mocked by the aristocracy — and how it conquered the world. Followed by a gentle workshop for those who want to take their first steps in the embrace.

«Tango has no patience for pretense. It demands honesty. In movement, in breath, in the pause. It's a dialogue without words. An embrace with no room for hurry.»

Parisian Flat
An intimate hideaway in Limassol’s old town. Mornings begin with the quiet hum of the coffee machine and aesthetic breakfasts — simple, beautiful. Evenings belong to lectures, cinema, and private gatherings.

This space is for those who see culture not as an abstraction, but as a way to live with more beauty, feel with more depth, and think with more freedom. It’s not a place — it’s a state.

Refinement. Dialogue. Freedom of thought. This is the atmosphere we breathe.
